Having been in the wedding industry as a DJ for the past 23 years, I've seen many venues and worked with many "coordinators" and staff. Unfortunately the majority of brides out there (let's face it- the groom only shops for his tux - sorry ladies) do not hire a coordinator. The venue staff is just there to make sure no one at the reception sets the building on fire. When that happens, the actual coordination falls in the hands of me and my assistant while simultaneously taking care of the music services. Smart brides will hire a coordinator to be sure things run smoothly, on time and that event-handling doesn't fall into the hands of an increasingly intoxicated aunt. However, choosing the wrong coordinator is worse than having a drunk aunt handle the event. Of all the coordinators out there (and there are many), you should look no further than Stephanie with One Event Design. She has many years of experience, she is prompt, organized, knowledgeable, has a list of great vendors and venues at her disposal (from whom she can get special discounts that a bride planning her own wedding cannot), and most importantly she tailors a wedding plan that not only suits her brides but also saves her brides a great deal of money, time and headaches. One of the most important aspects of all, at least on the day of the event, is that she is a precise time-keeper. Surprisingly, four hours (for the typical wedding and reception) goes by quickly - so every second counts. Unfortunately, not all vendors are as time sensitive as they need to be - I've seen inexperienced photographers burn though and hour and a half!! A good coordinator will keep those vendors on track and prevent them from eating up the bride and groom's limited time. In addition to all the aforementioned, Stephanie is just pleasant to be around and wears a smile throughout the event! I highly recommend her for preserving any bride's sanity...
